Today is a struggle for both the kids and me. Jim is off to Wyoming again and this time he is gone for 2 weeks. Doesn't seem to long does it? Well, being a single mom for 2 weeks sucks. (yeah, Christy and DK, I know, it's really not that long :))
So after cleaning up the 17th spilled drink for the day, I was done. I really wanted to swear (which is really bad since Ty is saying everything we say) and as I was reaching for yet another dish towel I turned in time to see Ty drinking the Mt.Dew right off the counter, like a dog (yep, he was drinking Mt.Dew, because that's what dad drinks! Just hand me the award for Mother of the Year. And the day spa gift certificate). I started laughing so hard I forgot about getting the towel and just enjoyed the moment.
So here's today's lesson, when your at your wits end, Laugh. That's all I could do and it was the best remedy for my stress!

HA so what time did Ty get to bed that night thanks to Mt Dew??:)
It's good to learn to find humor is crazy situations. I really admire all the mothers in my life when I see how hard it is but how well they really do. Go Katey!
Amen, Sista. And two weeks really can stretch on. Give yourself more credit. And pass the experience along when you talk to women who don't appreciate their husbands! Our guys are great, aren't they? Makes you love them more, to be reminded of life without them. You and Jim are troopers. Good luck!
You're so funny. This post made me want a Mt Dew. lol
Good luck, you'll survive the 2 weeks. It will go fast!
that's my boy. love you ty.
What a good mom. I could definitely learn a thing or two from this post! Good luck with the next two weeks. You are a stronger woman than I, I hate it when Rhett is gone I pack myself straight up to my parents. Sad but true! See ya at target!!!
LOL! I've so been there. I tend to grab my camera and take pics. That way my kids can't see my tears behind the camera! Oh, it's so fun and exciting being a mom! You're hilarious by the way! I love reading your posts!!!
Great advice! I learned one day that it's better just to laugh. Some items that I valued got broken and I felt angry and then the thought came to me that if I were to make too big of a deal out of it or punish them that they may think that I valued that possesion more than them. So, I laughed.
And it seemed that every time they did something stupid, broke something, or made a mess and I made a big deal out of it then sure enough I would do something worse.
So laughing in a good response!
