Lexi update.

Well the surgery went well. We got to the surgical center at 7:45 and they took her right back. She got really scared at this point and wanted mom holding her at all times. Then she was taken away without much notice. Dad wasn't even able to give her a kiss. I guess it was better that she was gone so fast. I could hear her crying all the way down the hall, but the happy gas they gave her made her forget! So that's good. We were on our way home by 9:45!! It was great. She was so groggy and I loved it. Lexi is one of those children that is fast to sleep and fast awake. I have NEVER seen her sleepy like that. It was cute/sad!

Wake up sleepy Lexi!

As for the recovery, she seems to be getting better everyday. I thought she would be back to dance in a week. I was wrong. She is still very sore and tired but in another week so she should be as good as new. The one thing I wished I had been warned about is the horrible, horrible breath! I don't want to make her feel bad but this morning she smelt it for the first time and started gagging. That's how bad it is! She has been sleeping well at night and taking a long naps everyday. Her ears are hurting and I just noticed that the scabs are starting to come off, so today or tomorrow she will be really sore. But all in all, she is doing great and being a real trooper!

Day 2

Day 4. Looking much better!

Thanks to everyone for all the presents that have been given to her. The movies have helped passed the time as well as the books. I have tried to find ways to stay busy as well. We have had visitors. I have cleaned the laundry room, top to bottom, and the downstairs bathroom. They usually get bypassed on my cleaning list, so it was good. I also finished a few projects. And made my 1st ever diaper cake. It was fun! A busy yet, stay at home week for us! Hope next week is even better and Lexi gets all better!

Check out the static!

First diaper cake! It was so fun! I used a TON (like 100) of diapers and they are all newborn size. So I am sure there is more then you can use for 1 newborn but I got 160 new born diapers for $10!! Go KSL!

Way cute diaper cake and glad your little Lexi is recovering well. I hate when my kids have surgeries. It is so much worry. She seems like a trooper though!

Poor Lexi. I haven't been around her much (if ever...sad), but in all her pictures she always looks so happy. You can tell she feels lousy in some of the pictures. Breaks my heart. Hope she is doing very well by now! Oh, and that her breath smells better. :)

Love the diaper cake. You've got skills!

Lexi, I hope you are better now. I still remember how miserable I was when I got my tonsils out.

Katey, the diaper cake is adorable!
